4 to 6 Sessions | Salaried or Salaried with a View to Partnership

We are looking to recruit a motivated and compassionate GP to join our friendly team for 4 to 6 sessions per week, either as a salaried GP or salaried GP with a view to partnership.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will provide general medical services to our patient population, including:

Assessing, diagnosing and managing a wide range of acute and chronic conditions

Providing appropriate treatment, prescribing and referral

Working collaboratively with the wider practice and multidisciplinary team

Participating in clinical meetings and practice development

Contributing to the education and training of students and trainees, where appropriate

Maintaining high standards of clinical documentation, governance and patient confidentiality

There will be opportunities to develop individual areas of clinical interest, including:

LARC fitting

Minor surgery

Joint injections

Teaching and training roles

St Thomas Surgery has around 13,000 patients and is a well-established, forward-thinking and successful training practice with a dynamic and supportive partnership.

We operate from one main surgery and two branch surgeries, one of which is a dispensing surgery, serving a diverse and engaged patient population.

There are currently 4 partners and 3 salaried GPs, working alongside practice nurses and HCAs.

St Thomas Surgery is situated in the market town of Haverfordwest, in the stunning coastal county of Pembrokeshire. Job description Job responsibilities

Our working day is split into 2 clinical sessions. Salaried GPs work a 1:4 duty session, and the cover for Friday afternoons are shared out equally.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

Provide safe, effective and patient-centred care within their professional competence

Make appropriate referrals and liaise with secondary care and other healthcare professionals

Participate in clinical governance, audit and significant event reviews

Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records

Contribute to practice meetings and service development

Support the teaching and training of medical students, F2 doctors and GP Registrars, as appropriate

Maintain continuing professional development and keep up to date with relevant clinical guidance

Work effectively as part of the wider practice team

Maintain professional standards and patient confidentiality

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Experience of working in primary care

Qualifications Essential

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification MRCGP or equivalent Registered with the GMC Right to work in the UK
