An Exciting Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Job Evaluation Lead to provide expert leadership and operational oversight of the NHS Job Evaluation Scheme across the Trust.

This is a new post for the Trust, fixed term for two years and is an excellent opportunity for an individual with substantial knowledge of Agenda for Change, NHS Job Evaluation processes, and organisational change programmes to play a pivotal role in ensuring the consistent, fair and robust application of job evaluation principles.

Reporting to the HR Business Partner, the Job Evaluation Lead will lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive Job Evaluation programme, supporting workforce transformation, organisational change initiatives, and compliance with national NHS terms and conditions.

Main duties of the job

About the Role

The postholder will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Trust's Job Evaluation function, ensuring that job evaluation activity is undertaken in accordance with the NHS Job Evaluation Handbook and national guidance.

You will work closely with senior managers, staff-side representatives, HR colleagues and job evaluation panellists to support the effective review and evaluation of roles across the organisation. You will also line manage the Job Evaluation Administrator.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing expert advice on the NHS Job Evaluation Scheme and Agenda for Change. Working in conjunction with HRBP team on the planning and delivery of large-scale job evaluation programmes associated with service redesign and organisational change. Managing consistency checking and quality assurance arrangements. Supporting and developing Job Evaluation panels and maintaining partnership working with Trade Union representatives. Organising the delivery of nationally recognised training and refresher training for job matchers. About You

Essential Criteria

Experience of applying the NHS Job Evaluation Scheme within an NHS organisation. Comprehensive knowledge of Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions. Experience of leading Job Evaluation panels and consistency checking processes. Experience of managing complex job evaluation reviews and organisational change programmes.

Job description Job responsibilities IJES implementation, systems and data

Lead the implementation, embedding, continuous use and improvement of IJES in accordance with the agreed project plan.

Coordinate system administration and implementation activity with the HR Administrator, ensuring actions and deadlines are completed.

Develop user guidance, training materials and standard operating procedures for job matchers and other system users.

Ensure effective administrative systems and controls are in place and monitor compliance through the HR Administrator.

Gather, analyse and validate qualitative and quantitative Job Evaluation data for operational oversight, Board reporting and local and national returns.

Review statistical information produced by IJES to ensure it is accurate, complete and suitable for reporting.

Use performance information to measure activity and improvement against agreed criteria and lead the implementation and review of service improvements.
