Job summary
Laboratory Administrator - Band 2 - CRM supports patients who are struggling to conceive, helping them achieve their dream of becoming parents. We are seeking a friendly, hardworking, and flexible Laboratory Administrator to join our Laboratory Administration Team.
Working Hours - This is a 16-hour per week position with the following working pattern: Weds 0900 - 1530, Thurs 0900 - 1430, Fri 0900 - 1430. All shifts include a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
About the Role - The successful applicant will be expected to provide administrative support to the laboratory service and work effectively as part of a busy team. A flexible approach is essential, as shift patterns may occasionally change to meet the needs of the service. The ability to offer additional cover when required is essential. Main duties of the job
Collection of data from patient notes, interpreting clinical information and identifying the clinical details to input. Deal with all incoming telephone calls for patients requesting appointments for semen analysis and booking appointments as required. Gather and interpret information from a variety of sources both internally and externally and identify the relevant data to input. Inputting semen analysis results following detailed analysis by the laboratory staff in a timely manner. Analyse clinical information from patient`s notes.

Job description Job responsibilities
Identify incorrect data and advise relevant individual and obtain correct data. Identify all outstanding data items required for computer input and liaise with the appropriate internal departments and external organisations to obtain the relevant information. Prioritise all incoming workload in line with agreed departmental standards Carry out administration tasks such as photocopying, filing, ensuring that correspondence is filed correctly, maintaining manual records, distribution of reports in a timely manner. Assist in the preparation of paperwork and patient notes ahead of the weekly treatment planning meeting. Qualifications Essential
oCompleted secondary school education. oNVQ Level 2 Admin or equivalent. oEvidence of computer skills.
Desirable
o4 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C or above. oEvidence of EPR Training
Experience Essential
oRelevant clerical experience. oExperience of working in a customer facing role. oExperience of dealing with telephone queries and appointment booking.
Desirable
oPrevious experience of working in a healthcare environment. oBasic medical terminology.
Knowledge Essential
oUnderstanding of confidentiality. oAble to communicate clearly, verbally and written. oDemonstrates good interpersonal skills, able to work as a team or individually. oAbility to deal with a variety of tasks. oAccuracy. oGood keyboard skills, e.g. to RSA level 1 or equivalent.
