Main duties of the job
An exciting new opportunity, working for the New Hospital Programme, in the world of Estates and Facilities Management .The Hospital Operations (HO) workstream is part of the Healthcare Directorate which supports the NHP vision and strategic objectives from an operations lens. The work is currently formed around 4 areas:
- Hospital 2.0 Target Operating Model
- Assurance
- Operational Readiness
- Estates and Facilities Management
As Head of Estates & Facilities Management, the post holder will work and lead our dynamic estates and facilities management team in delivering an effective programme of work. Key areas of activity include leading the Estates Services elements for the estates and facilities team during design meetings, business case reviews, operational readiness assurance activities and development of New Hospital Programme guidance and support products in collaboration with key stakeholders.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience Essential
Have experience of leading the EFM Team through new build Have experience of leading the EFM team through technical and operational commissioning. Demonstrate knowledge and background in the management of both hard and soft FM services. An understanding of Smart Buildings platforms, systems and technologies. Knowledge of current legislation and guidance for NHS properties, such as HBNs and HTMs Detailed knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety legislations and requirements of working within a built environment - CDM regulations and IPAC requirements
Desirable
Previously responsible for a budget, involved in budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes Should have an appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health, the NHS England and individual provider and commissioning organisations. Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development

Qualifications Essential
Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience of working at a senior level in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering in a Healthcare environment. Membership of Professional Institute e.g. CIBSE, IMechE, MCIOB
