Aston Carter is partnering with a fast-growing manufacturing company in the Kansas City area seeking a Director of Global Sourcing to lead its global purchasing and sourcing strategy. This is a newly created, high-visibility role with the opportunity to build out the sourcing function and develop a team. A major focus will be driving PPV improvements of 1020%, representing approximately $1520 million in annual savings, while leading supplier negotiations, improving vendor performance, and strengthening the companys global supplier network.The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience within an OEM/manufacturing environment, with strong experience in global sourcing, contract negotiations, cost reduction, and data-driven decision-making. The position offers a $170K$220K base salary plus a 10% annual bonus and the opportunity to make a significant impact within a rapidly growing organization.Job Summary:The Director of Global Sourcing will lead the organizations strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives, with a focus on cost reduction, supplier performance, contract negotiations, and supply chain optimization. This individual will develop long-term sourcing strategies, negotiate agreements across key spend categories, evaluate total cost of ownership, and build a strong domestic and international supplier network to support the companys continued growth.Responsibilities
• Develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies aligned with manufacturing and overall business objectives. • Lead complex supplier negotiations across high-value spend categories to achieve cost savings and favorable commercial terms. • Identify, evaluate, and manage strategic supplier relationships to improve quality, cost, delivery, and overall performance. • Analyze total cost considerations, including transportation, tariffs, inventory, quality, and other supply chain expenses. • Develop and execute dual-sourcing strategies to reduce risk and ensure continuity for critical production materials and components. • Manage supplier qualification and performance while maintaining a strong network of approved vendors. • Conduct purchase price and cost-saving analysis to identify opportunities and measure results. • Drive cost-saving initiatives across both direct and indirect spend categories. • Develop supply chain contingency and business continuity plans to mitigate shortages and supplier disruptions. • Establish and monitor supplier KPIs and scorecards, including quality, delivery, lead times, and overall performance. • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, and other key stakeholders to ensure sourcing strategies support business needs. Qualifications
• 10+ years of progressive strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment. • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. • Strong experience with domestic and international sourcing and managing global supplier relationships. • Proven background in contract negotiations, strategic cost modeling, supplier management, and cost-reduction initiatives. • Experience developing sourcing strategies for complex or highly engineered components and raw materials. • Knowledge of international trade, logistics, tariffs, regulatory requirements, and global supply chain risks. • Demonstrated ability to develop dual-source and risk-mitigation strategies for production-critical materials. • Experience utilizing ERP systems, analytics, forecasting tools, and other procurement technologies to support sourcing decisions. • Strong ability to use data and market intelligence to drive negotiations and supplier decisions. • Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, finance, quality, and leadership teams. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Kansas City, KS. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $170000.00 - $220000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Full scope of benefits offered - Health, Dental, Vision, 401k.
