Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician diagnoses and repairs basic electrical and mechanical issues in industrial machinery and equipment, performs preventative and predictive maintenance, and supports the smooth and safe operation of production processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Responsibilities
• Diagnose and troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical problems with industrial machinery and equipment. • Perform basic repairs to machinery using general maintenance techniques, appropriate tools, and practical mechanical skills. • Carry out basic preventative and predictive maintenance tasks, including lubricating, aligning, adjusting, and cleaning equipment to reduce downtime and extend asset life. • Perform basic welding to support the repair and fabrication of mechanical equipment and components. • Work on and assist with electrical, hydraulic, PLC, combustion, and pneumatic systems under guidance as needed. • Read, interpret, and understand schematics and blueprints to identify issues and execute repairs or modifications accurately. • Assist mechanics and machine operators as necessary to resolve equipment issues and support continuous production. • Monitor the condition of equipment on an ongoing basis and make effective use of planned outages to complete maintenance work. • Support minor PLC troubleshooting and modifications to maintain proper machine operation. • Contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment in a hot, heavy, loud, and dirty industrial setting. Essential Skills
• Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance. • Experience working with hydraulic systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment. • Experience working with pneumatic systems and related components. • Ability to perform minor welding for repair and fabrication of mechanical equipment. • Experience with minor PLC troubleshooting and basic ladder logic understanding. • Ability to perform minor PLC program modifications to support equipment functionality. • Basic knowledge of motor control and industrial motors, including work with 480V systems. • Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints for mechanical and electrical systems. • Comfort working in a fast-paced industrial environment with heavy equipment and continuous production. • Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical issues on production machinery. • Experience working with industrial PLCs, including ladder logic modification and troubleshooting. • Familiarity with combustion systems used in industrial processes. • Exposure to predictive maintenance practices and condition monitoring. • Ability to collaborate effectively with mechanics, operators, and other maintenance team members. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment reliability and uptime. Team members train on day shift, typically 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for the first couple of months, then transition to a 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. schedule. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, with frequent overtime on Saturdays and Sundays as needed, resulting in approximately 5060 hours per week. The environment involves working around heavy machinery, industrial electrical systems (including 480V), hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and PLC-controlled processes, requiring comfort with physically demanding conditions and adherence to appropriate industrial attire and safety gear. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chesterfield, VA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $34.50 - $34.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
