Job Title: Shipping and Receiving ClerkJob DescriptionThe Shipping and Receiving Clerk accurately processes incoming and outgoing materials, supports order fulfillment through picking and packing, and helps maintain organized inventory and logistics operations. This role ensures that products move efficiently through the warehouse while meeting quality and accuracy standards. Responsibilities • Receive incoming shipments by verifying quantities, checking documentation, and ensuring materials match purchase orders. • Inspect incoming goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate team members. • Prepare outgoing shipments by picking and selecting the correct items according to order requirements. • Pack products securely and accurately to prevent damage and ensure correct labeling for shipment. • Perform shipping and receiving tasks using established procedures to maintain accurate records. • Support logistics activities by coordinating the flow of materials and finished goods within the warehouse. • Assist with kitting activities by assembling components into kits according to specifications. • Maintain inventory control by organizing stock, performing counts, and reporting variances. • Use SAP or similar systems to enter, track, and update shipping, receiving, and inventory information. • Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe by following all workplace safety guidelines. • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. • Follow all standard operating procedures for picking, packing, shipping, and receiving to meet productivity and quality goals. Essential Skills • Experience performing shipping and receiving duties in a warehouse or distribution environment. • Proficiency with picking, packing, and order selection processes. • Familiarity with logistics and inventory control practices. • Ability to perform kitting tasks by assembling components into complete kits. • Experience using SAP or similar systems for tracking inventory and processing orders. • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment and documentation. • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures. • Capability to work effectively on either first or second shift as scheduled. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations. • Comfort working with technology and warehouse management systems such as SAP. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments. Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a warehouse environment focused on shipping, receiving, logistics, and inventory control. You work on either a first shift (approximately 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) or a second shift (approximately 1:45 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.), depending on scheduling needs. The role involves standing, walking, picking, packing, and handling materials throughout the shift. You use tools such as SAP or similar systems, as well as standard warehouse equipment, to complete daily tasks. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and efficiency while maintaining a clean and orderly workspace. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.75 - $20.75/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
