Wafer Boxing OperatorVancouver, WAMonday-Friday Day Shift6:00am-3:00pmJob DescriptionThe Wafer Boxing Operator plays a critical role as the final quality checkpoint before finished wafers leave the facility. You will package wafers according to strict procedures and customer specifications, perform detailed visual inspections, and ensure all documentation and labeling are accurate prior to shipment. This role requires a reliable, self-directed individual with strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced production environment. This is a day-shift position, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.Responsibilities
• Package and carton finished wafers in accordance with established procedures and specific customer requirements. • Perform final visual inspections of wafers to verify material accuracy, overall quality, labeling, and documentation prior to shipment. • Ensure all products are properly packaged and prepared for safe transit, including appropriate packing materials and secure boxing. • Maintain accurate records and complete all required paperwork and electronic forms for each shipment and process step. • Identify, document, and communicate any discrepancies or quality concerns before material is released for shipment. • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with all safety and housekeeping standards. • Work independently to manage daily priorities, production deadlines, and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Determine material quantities needed and transfer materials to predetermined locations as required by work orders. • Review work orders and load material onto the appropriate tool sets, selecting and loading the correct recipes according to customer specifications. • Perform daily calibrations for each process tool and verify that all calibration data meets process specifications before releasing tools to production. • Continuously monitor, analyze, and verify that all data and processes meet quality specifications before moving material to the next process step. • Operate robotic equipment to lift, unload, raise, lower, and transport materials, products, and related equipment safely. • Use effective time management to multitask while maintaining strong attention to detail and organization. • Use a computer to electronically move and track material, create reports, and maintain accurate system records. • Input data using a computer keyboard to track and confirm incoming and outgoing material for each process step. • Complete computerized forms and labels for each tool, and submit requests for delivery of materials and equipment based on work orders and schedule requirements. • Follow all documented training, procedures, and processes to meet or exceed quality standards. • Report and take action to prevent variations, errors, or lapses in quality, ensuring issues are corrected and not repeated. • Identify and report suggestions for process or quality improvements to supervisors or appropriate team members. • Complete all tasks using safe work practices and consistently prioritize safety over deadlines or production goals. • Act as a safety role model by following safety procedures and demonstrating safe behaviors around co-workers. • Work safely in close proximity to moving mechanical parts and automated equipment. • Read, understand, and follow written procedures, work instructions, technical manuals, and reports in English. • Communicate effectively in English with management and co-workers to clarify instructions, report issues, and coordinate work. • High attention to detail with the ability to perform precise visual inspections of small parts to identify errors, defects, and inconsistencies. • Strong commitment to quality, including adherence to documented procedures and processes. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing daily priorities and deadlines. • Strong organizational and time management skills in a multitasking production environment. • Ability to follow written procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation in English. • Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of a keyboard to input and track material information. • Familiarity with email and Microsoft Office programs such as Excel. • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and compute percentages and decimals using a calculator. • Effective communication skills in English, including the ability to read, write, and explain instructions, procedures, manuals, reports, and correspondence. • Reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production operations. • Ability to operate or work around robotic and automated equipment safely. • Strong safety awareness and willingness to prioritize safe behaviors at all times. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Basic manufacturing or production experience preferred but not required. • Experience with inventory handling, picking, packing, loading, and material staging is beneficial. • Background in quality control or inspection in a production environment is an advantage. • Demonstrated self-starter mindset with the ability to take ownership of tasks and follow through to completion. • Experience working with data tracking systems or electronic material movement tools is a plus. Work EnvironmentThis role operates in a mixed environment that includes both a highly automated cleanroom and adjacent staging areas. Part of the day is spent in a cleanroom where you wear full personal protective equipment, including a hooded cleanroom suit, hairnet, safety glasses, face mask, and latex gloves. The cleanroom is controlled, organized, and designed for precision work with small parts and automated tools. Other portions of the day are spent outside the cleanroom in staging areas, including time on loading docks and driving a box truck between buildings as needed. You will work around moving mechanical parts and robotic equipment and use computers and electronic systems to track materials and complete documentation. The standard schedule is day shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with an emphasis on maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area at all times. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, WA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
