Material HandlerJob DescriptionThis role focuses on manual material handling in a clean, industrial environment. You use a computer to track parts, follow pick lists, and move materials accurately to staging areas for further processing. You support production and warehouse operations by ensuring materials are organized, available, and handled safely.Responsibilities
• Handle raw stock materials such as steel and aluminum bar stock manually throughout the production and warehouse areas. • Use a computer system to track parts, update inventory information, and follow pick lists accurately. • Move materials to designated staging areas to ensure timely processing and smooth production flow. • Support general production activities by preparing, organizing, and supplying materials as needed. • Perform general labor tasks in the warehouse, including loading and unloading materials without the use of a forklift. • Maintain accurate records of materials handled to support inventory control and production planning. • Follow established safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. • Keep work areas clean and organized to support efficient operations and protect materials from damage. • Collaborate with production and warehouse team members to prioritize material handling tasks and meet operational needs. • Lift and move heavy materials safely, using proper lifting techniques and any provided equipment. Essential Skills
• Proven ability to perform manual material handling tasks in a production or warehouse environment. • Comfort with heavy lifting and physical labor throughout the workday. • Basic computer skills to track parts, follow pick lists, and update inventory information. • Experience in production or general production settings. • Experience in warehouse operations, general labor, or inventory support. • Ability to work safely in an industrial environment with raw steel and aluminum bar stock. • Strong attention to detail when following pick lists and moving materials to correct staging areas. • Experience in material handling roles that do not require forklift operation. • Familiarity with industrial or manufacturing environments. • Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas. • Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with production and warehouse staff. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Fe Springs, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
