Job Title: Machine OperatorJob DescriptionThis role supports a growing manufacturing facility by performing a wide range of general labor and machine operation tasks as new steel extrusion equipment is installed and brought online. You will help assemble and set up machinery, keep the work area clean and organized, operate production equipment, and assist with material handling to ensure the plant ramps up smoothly and safely. Responsibilities • Assist with the assembly and setup of new steel extrusion machines and related equipment. • Operate manufacturing machinery and production equipment once installed and trained. • Perform general labor tasks including sweeping, cleaning, and organizing work areas to maintain a safe and efficient facility. • Clean and maintain tools, dies, and molds to support smooth production operations. • Use a tape measure accurately to take measurements and verify product specifications. • Operate a sit-down forklift to move materials, tools, and products as needed. • Handle hand tools and basic equipment to support assembly, maintenance, and production tasks. • Support all aspects of plant start-up by taking on a variety of duties as needed, including general production work. • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work environment. • Demonstrate strong dependability, a positive attitude, and a solid work ethic in a fast-changing start-up setting. Essential Skills • Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure for measurements. • Experience operating machines in a manufacturing or production setting, or the ability to learn new machinery with training. • Ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely (experience preferred). • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, equipment, and machinery. • Willingness and ability to perform general labor tasks, including assembly, cleaning, and material handling. • Capability to use hand tools safely and effectively. • Strong attitude, dependability, and work ethic, especially in a start-up facility environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience in general production, machine operation, or assembly work. • Comfort working in a start-up facility where duties may change and flexibility is required. • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to new responsibilities as the plant grows. • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows. • Commitment to following safety guidelines and maintaining equipment and tools in good condition. Work EnvironmentThe work takes place in a non-temperature-controlled manufacturing facility where conditions can be greasy and dirty due to steel extrusion and related processes. Team members should be comfortable in an active, industrial setting and prepared for physically demanding tasks throughout the shift. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Robinsonville, MS. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
