Job Title: Machine Operator 3rd ShiftJob DescriptionThe Machine Operator on 3rd shift operates a variety of equipment in a food production facility, including packaging machines, baggers, rollers, and other production machinery. This role involves setting up machines correctly, troubleshooting issues, monitoring product quality and line speed, and maintaining high standards of housekeeping and sanitation in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The position typically includes responsibility for one or more pieces of packaging equipment, such as Texwrap, ADCO, and Tiromat systems. Responsibilities • Operate a range of food production and packaging equipment, including machines such as Texwrap, ADCO, Tiromat, baggers, rollers, and related systems. • Perform proper machine set-up and changeovers to ensure efficient and accurate production runs. • Monitor equipment performance, including speed, output, and product quality, and make adjustments as needed to meet production standards. • Troubleshoot basic mechanical and operational issues on the production line to minimize downtime. • Follow and uphold strict GMP, sanitation, and housekeeping standards throughout the production area. • Conduct routine visual inspections of products and packaging to ensure consistency and adherence to quality specifications. • Collaborate with production team members to maintain smooth workflow and meet production schedules. • Assist with packaging operations, including loading materials, clearing jams, and ensuring proper labeling and sealing. • Support general production tasks as needed to keep lines running efficiently. • Operate a forklift when required to move materials, packaging supplies, or finished goods safely within the facility. • Complete required documentation accurately, such as production counts or quality checks, in line with facility procedures. Essential Skills • At least 2+ years of machine operating experience at the same company, demonstrating reliability and consistency in a production environment. • At least 2+ years of packaging operating experience, preferably on automated packaging lines. • Minimum 1+ year of GMP experience working in a regulated manufacturing or food production setting. • Proven ability to operate and monitor packaging production equipment, including systems such as Texwrap, ADCO, and Tiromat. • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve basic mechanical or operational issues on production equipment. • Ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual ability in English and Spanish is highly valued. • Experience in general production work, including working on fast-paced manufacturing lines. • Knowledge of forklift operation and ability to safely move materials within a manufacturing facility. • Ability to follow detailed procedures and adhere to strict quality, safety, and sanitation standards. • Willingness and ability to work 3rd shift (11:00 p.m. 7:00 a.m.), Sunday through Thursday, and occasionally work a sixth day when needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Nice to have: 2+ years of food manufacturing machine operator experience, specifically in a food production environment. • Nice to have: 2+ years of GMP knowledge and practice, with strong familiarity with food safety and hygiene requirements. • Previous experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse setting. • Ability to be bilingual in English and Spanish, supporting communication across diverse production teams. • Comfort working with automated packaging technologies and learning new equipment as facilities and product lines expand. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high product quality and cleanliness standards. • Dependable work ethic and ability to adapt to changing production demands and schedules. Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a high-volume food manufacturing facility that follows strict GMP standards. The role is on 3rd shift, working from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, with occasional requirements to work six days per week depending on production needs. The facility employs approximately 700 people and operates modern packaging equipment, including Texwrap, ADCO, and Tiromat systems. Team members work in a clean, regulated environment with a strong focus on food safety and sanitation. Dress code and hygiene requirements include wearing hair nets, beard nets where applicable, and adhering to a no-jewelry policy while on the production floor to maintain product safety and compliance with GMP guidelines. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $49920.00/yr.
