Structural Welder/Fitter Location: Vancouver, WA Shift: Day & Swing Shifts Available Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Structural Welder/Fitter to join a custom metal fabrication shop in Vancouver, WA. This position involves welding and fitting carbon steel components in a fast-paced job shop environment where quality, precision, and craftsmanship are highly valued. Candidates should be proficient in MIG and FCAW welding, blueprint reading, layout, and fit-up. TIG welding experience, particularly with aluminum, is a plus. Responsibilities
• Perform MIG and FCAW (Flux Core) welding on carbon steel components. • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings. • Complete layout and fit-up of structural steel assemblies and fabricated parts. • Maintain tight tolerances up to .006". • Weld in multiple positions, including 1G, 2G, and 3G. • Perform TIG welding on aluminum and specialty projects as needed. • Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality and dimensional accuracy. • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining production and quality standards. • Collaborate with team members to complete projects safely and on schedule. • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment. Qualifications
• Previous experience as a Welder, Fitter, or Welder/Fabricator. • Strong MIG and FCAW welding experience. • Ability to read and interpret fabrication blueprints and drawings. • Experience performing structural fit-up and layout work. • Comfortable working in a custom fabrication or job shop environment. • TIG welding experience is preferred but not required. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
