Job Title: AssemblerJob DescriptionThe Assembler plays a key role in building high-quality lighting products used in museums, hotels, and private residences. In this role, you assemble and install parts using hand, air, and power tools, follow detailed work instructions and blueprints, and work as part of a small team on a production line to complete multiple steps of the assembly process. You help ensure products meet specifications through routine inspections, support safe and efficient equipment operation, and contribute to a climate-controlled, well-organized manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Assemble and install parts using hand tools, air tools, and power tools in accordance with work instructions and product specifications. • Fit, wire, and connect components using appropriate equipment, ensuring all work follows documented procedures and quality standards. • Follow blueprints and written work instructions to correctly assemble various product variations and light fixtures. • Perform routine inspections on products, processes, and materials to verify that work output meets factory floor paperwork and specification requirements. • Identify potentially unsafe situations or conditions and either correct them when appropriate or promptly notify the Production Group Lead, recommending corrective actions or special equipment as needed. • Attend to production equipment to help ensure proper operation and participate in the implementation and maintenance of production equipment and facility resources. • Work at a designated workbench with a team of approximately three other assemblers, completing 510 assembly steps on each product before passing it to the next team member. • Ensure assembled products are prepared for downstream processes by passing completed units to the final assembler, who will palletize them for warehouse wrapping, storage, and shipment. • Complete assessment testing as directed by the Production Group Lead to validate skills and alignment with production requirements. • Maintain consistent, reliable attendance and demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work history. • Support team members and be willing to move around the facility to assist wherever needed, contributing to a collaborative and flexible work culture. • Adhere to all safety, quality, and production guidelines while working on an automotive-style heavy assembly line environment. • Use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers accurately to verify component dimensions and assembly quality. • Communicate clearly in English to read work instructions, complete paperwork, and collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors. Essential Skills • At least 1 year of assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment. • Hands-on experience using hand tools, including calipers and micrometers, for measurement and assembly tasks. • Experience assembling products by following blueprints or detailed work instructions. • Ability to read, speak, and write English to understand instructions, complete documentation, and communicate with the team. • High School Diploma or GED. • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift and perform repetitive tasks with hands and fingers. • Physical ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, twist, kneel, squat, crawl, and reach outward or above shoulder level for extended periods. • Capability to lift, carry, push, or pull 1545 pounds throughout the shift. • Adequate depth perception and ability to distinguish basic colors and shades of color for inspection and assembly work. • Strong attendance record, positive attitude, and solid work history in prior roles. • Comfort working in an industrial, assembly-line environment with multiple workstations and team-based workflows. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Background in heavy assembly on automotive lines is highly beneficial. • Experience in mechanical or manufacturing settings involving production, hand tools, and blueprint reading. • Ability to successfully complete assessment testing administered by the Production Group Lead. • Willingness to learn new products and processes and to be trained to move into different areas of the facility as needed. • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate closely with 34 coworkers at a shared workbench. • Comfort working with a variety of product variations and adapting to different assembly steps throughout the day. • Reliability in following safety procedures and proactively reporting unsafe conditions. • Flexibility to assist in multiple departments and support production demands across the facility. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a climate-controlled industrial facility that remains comfortable in both winter and summer. You work at one of approximately ten workstations arranged in a line with 34 other team members, within a medium-sized, fully enclosed warehouse environment, except for two open shipping and receiving doors on the far side of the floor. The workspace is described as a beautiful, well-maintained production environment. You stand 100% of the time while performing assembly tasks, using hand tools, air tools, and power tools at a dedicated workbench where all tools, work instructions, and staged materials are provided for your daily assignments. The schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The dress code consists of a plain black t-shirt (provided after the first few weeks), jeans in blue, khaki, or black, and tennis shoes, ensuring a practical and consistent appearance on the factory floor. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
