Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Engineering Technician supports prototype builds, engineering trials, and customer development activities by performing hands-on work with electronic and electromechanical assemblies. This role involves operating SMT and prototype assembly equipment, following detailed technical documentation, assisting with test setups, and collaborating closely with engineers and scientists on experiments, development projects, and troubleshooting. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, lab-based work with emerging technologies in electronics and advanced manufacturing.Responsibilities
• Support prototype builds, engineering trials, and customer development work from initial setup through completion. • Perform hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, soldering, rework, and modification of electronic and electromechanical assemblies. • Follow drawings, schematics, work instructions, and standard operating procedures precisely to ensure high-quality results. • Support and operate SMT and prototype assembly equipment, including pick-and-place systems, stencil and screen printing equipment, reflow ovens, and related tools as required. • Assist with the design, setup, and use of test fixtures and test setups, and perform basic troubleshooting of equipment. • Inspect prototype and production assemblies for workmanship, process consistency, and conformance to drawings and specifications. • Learn and operate a variety of laboratory, manufacturing, and prototype equipment to support ongoing projects. • Prepare materials by accurately weighing and mixing components and following controlled formulations and procedures. • Record test results, material information, process conditions, and technical observations accurately and in a timely manner. • Identify potential issues in processes or assemblies, communicate findings clearly, and take ownership of assigned work rather than simply following instructions. • Work closely with engineers and scientists on experiments, development projects, troubleshooting activities, and problem solving. • Help maintain organized work areas, tools, equipment, and technical documentation to support efficient operations. • Support other technical and manufacturing activities as needed to meet project and production goals. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Brick, NJ. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
