Job Title: Project ManagerJob DescriptionThe Project Manager supports the successful delivery of construction materials testing and engineering projects from initiation through completion. This role coordinates project activities, communicates with clients and contractors, tracks budgets, assists with proposals and reports, and ensures that project deliverables meet established quality standards. The individual works closely with senior Project Managers to monitor project progress, support business operations, and build the technical and leadership capabilities needed to advance into a full Project Manager and eventually senior Project Manager role. Responsibilities • Assist with managing construction materials testing and engineering projects from project kickoff through completion. • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that schedules, resources, and priorities remain aligned. • Manage project schedules and staffing assignments to meet deadlines and client expectations. • Track deadlines, deliverables, and key project milestones, and proactively address risks or delays. • Collaborate closely with field technicians and laboratory teams to support testing activities and data collection. • Communicate regularly with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to provide updates and address project needs. • Review and interpret technical data and engineering reports to support project decisions and recommendations. • Ensure project deliverables comply with applicable industry standards, specifications, and quality requirements. • Support change order management, including documenting scope changes and updating schedules and budgets as needed. • Assist with construction materials testing coordination for commercial construction projects. • Monitor project budgets and performance, tracking labor, expenses, and overall project profitability. • Assist with invoicing and contract administration to support accurate and timely billing. • Support financial reporting activities related to project performance and cost management. • Prepare project proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates in collaboration with project leadership. • Participate in networking and business development activities to help grow client relationships and identify new opportunities. • Support contract negotiations and project procurement efforts under the guidance of senior staff. • Develop strategies to grow existing accounts and help secure new business opportunities. • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and documentation related to geotechnical investigations and construction materials testing. • Work within a collaborative team environment to ensure project success and high levels of client satisfaction. Essential Skills • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. • Experience managing project schedules and staffing assignments to meet project deadlines. • Strong skills in tracking deadlines, deliverables, and project milestones. • Ability to collaborate effectively with field technicians and laboratory teams. • Familiarity with geotechnical engineering investigations and reporting processes. • Knowledge of industry standards, specifications, and quality requirements related to construction and materials testing. • Ability to review, interpret, and apply technical data and engineering reports to project decisions. • Experience with change order management, project scheduling, and construction coordination. • Understanding of construction materials testing in commercial construction environments. • Solid organizational and time management skills with attention to detail. • Clear and professional communication skills for working with clients, contractors, and internal teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Knowledge of construction materials testing (CMT) procedures and reporting. • Familiarity with testing and inspection of concrete, soils, asphalt, steel, and special inspections. • Ability to interpret field and laboratory testing data and relate findings to project requirements. • Understanding of construction processes and broader industry standards. • Experience monitoring project budgets and performance, including labor and expense tracking. • Background in assisting with invoicing, contract administration, and financial reporting activities. • Experience preparing project proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates. • Interest or experience in networking, business development, and client relationship management. • Exposure to contract negotiations and project procurement activities. • Motivation to grow into a full Project Manager and senior Project Manager role through hands-on learning and mentorship. Work EnvironmentThe role operates in a combination of office, laboratory, and field-based settings, offering exposure to a wide variety of engineering and construction projects. You will interact frequently with engineers, project managers, contractors, and clients while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The position includes occasional travel to construction sites throughout the region and regular collaboration in a professional office setting with periodic field visits. Work hours are generally standard business hours, with occasional early mornings or extended hours based on project demands. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Tulsa, OK. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $65000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
