GA-ASI has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Test supervisor to join the Electrical Engineering Test team within the ASI Division located in Poway, CA.

This position will report to Electrical Engineering Test manager and will supervise a multidisciplinary team supporting production avionics, flight-test instrumentation, ground systems, and automated test environments. This position combines technical leadership, personnel development, project execution, and cross-functional problem solving. Contributes to the development of annual and long-term objectives. Objectives are typically accomplished through a team of business analysts, technicians, and engineers. May be responsible for decisions that impact outcomes where erroneous decisions could cause serious schedule delays and expenditure of additional time, resources and funds.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Supervise all activities for electrical test engineering project(s) including planning, managing, and technical performance to ensure business objectives are attained. Projects can be complex and varied, including production avionics support of printed wiring assemblies (PWAs) and line-replaceable units (LRUs) test systems, flight test instrumentation, engine test stand, DO-178/254 airworthiness verification, LabVIEW software applications, manual adn automation test systems, and hardware test and measurement. • Act as an engineering contact to support Flight Operations Facility (FOF), Production Avionics, Ground Control Station (GCS) and Aircraft Integration departments. • Act as a go-to resource for daily on-demand technical problem solving. Work with all levels of personnel from production technicians through executive management. • Participate in test plan reviews, hardware and software design reviews, test system reviews, procedure development, and engineering efforts for test automation and instrumentation deliverables. • Identify engineering issues and provide leadership in developing solutions such as re-allocation of resources or modifying project specifications. • Ensure technical leadership and excellence is maintained by participating in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of technical talent. Lead progress review sessions to discuss schedule and technical performance. Participate in the preparation of estimates, proposals, business plans, and operating budget. • Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. • Other duties as assigned or required. Job Qualifications: • Typically requires a Bachelors, Masters or PhD in engineering or a related technical field as well as six or more years of progressively complex engineering experience. • Demonstrates technical expertise in the application of engineering test and measurement principles, concepts, theory, and practice as well as project management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones. • Experience with the following is preferred, LabVIEW, Databases, or flight test instrumentation systems such as KAM-500 or Safran XMA. • Must possess the ability to resolve management and technical problems. Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives. • Customer focused, must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment, and able to work extended hours and travel as required. • Experience using laboratory equipment (e.g., power supply, data acquisition, oscilloscope, and electronic load). • Experience mentoring and developing engineers and other technical personnel through technical instruction, internships, on-the-job coaching, or similar activities. • Passion for continuous learning and improving engineering processes, products, and team capabilities. • Experience troubleshooting test systems. • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance is required; an active Secret clearance is preferred.
