Scope of the Position: The SAP Master Data Lead is responsible for the governance, quality, integrity, and lifecycle management of enterprise master data across SAP and related business systems. This role serves as a subject matter expert for master data processes, standards, and governance practices, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of critical business data that supports operational excellence, regulatory compliance, reporting, and strategic decision-making. This position supports enterprise master data management efforts by executing established governance processes, maintaining data quality standards, and participating in SAP implementation, integration, and business improvement initiatives. The SAP Master Data Lead partners with business and IT stakeholders to address data-related challenges, support process improvements, and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of master data across SAP and related systems. This position reports to the SAP Master Data Manager and is remote. Primary Responsibilities
• Execute on the creation, extension, maintenance, retirement, mapping, and governance of SAP master data in accordance with established business rules, standards, controls, and compliance requirements. • Serve as the subject matter expert for SAP master data domains including Material, Customer, Vendor, Finance, and other enterprise data objects. • Support SAP S/4HANA implementations, acquisitions, system enhancements, integrations, and data migration initiatives by providing master data expertise. • Maintain, and enforce master data standards, governance frameworks, workflows, naming conventions, and data management procedures across the organization.
• Monitor, analyze, and improve data quality, consistency, completeness, accuracy, and compliance across SAP and connected business systems. • Perform data validation, cleansing, auditing, root-cause analysis, and corrective action activities to ensure ongoing data integrity. • Support internal and external audits by maintaining appropriate governance controls, documentation, and compliance processes.
• Partner with business stakeholders and IT teams to gather requirements, define data standards, maintain business rules and mappings, and implement effective master data solutions. • Translate business needs into sustainable master data processes that improve efficiency, scalability, and user experience. • Identify opportunities to improve data governance, streamline processes, standardize practices, and increase automation.
• Support testing, data validation, workflow administration, and deployment activities for projects impacting master data processes and systems. • Ensure master data readiness and alignment during business transformation initiatives.
• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve standard operating procedures, governance documentation, work instructions, business rules, and training materials. • Provide guidance and consultation to business users regarding master data policies, standards, and best practices. • Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related discipline; or equivalent relevant experience. • 5+ years of experience in SAP Master Data Management, Data Governance, Business Systems, or related functions. • Intermediate knowledge of master data governance principles, lifecycle management, data quality controls, and enterprise data standards. • Intermediate experience with SAP master data structures, tables, and processes. • Experience supporting SAP implementations, migrations, acquisitions, or large-scale business transformation initiatives. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and critical-thinking skills. • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build effective cross-functional partnerships. • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. • Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis capabilities. • Experience developing and improving data governance and operational processes. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA. • Experience with SAP MDG, Product Information Management (PIM), Incture, or related governance technologies. • Knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and commercial business processes. • Experience with data migration, data quality tools, automation, and process improvement initiatives. Working Conditions While performing the job duties, you will be working remotely in an office environment. You may be required to occasionally travel to and work in the office at the North Andover location for meetings, trainings, or as otherwise required by Company management. Physical Requirements: Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:
• Ability to remain seated at a desk or workstation for extended periods. • Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing, data entry, and computer work. • Ability to move throughout the office environment. • Ability to read documents and analyze information using a computer. • Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and business stakeholders. • Ability to operate standard office equipment. • Ability to occasionally lift and carry light office materials Pay Range The expected salary range for this position is $97,000-120,000 annually. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable law.
