About this role
We are looking for a proactive, technically skilled, and detail-oriented Supervisor – Solar Panel to support the operation and maintenance of the resort’s solar power generation system.
This role is responsible for supervising and coordinating solar panel installation, inspection, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities. The position provides technical direction to the Solar Panel Tradesman, coordinates work activities, and ensures that all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved procedures, technical standards, and operational requirements.
ResponsibilitiesSupervise the daily activities of Solar Panel TradesmanAssign tasks, provide work instructions, and establish work prioritiesEnsure all work is carried out in accordance with SOPs, work instructions, permits, and applicable technical and safety standardsCoordinate solar panel-related activities with Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, HSE, Operations, and other relevant departmentsSupervise the installation of solar panels, mounting structures, DC/AC cables, inverters, battery systems, combiner boxes, monitoring systems, and related equipmentEnsure that all components are installed according to approved drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturer standardsInspect the quality of installation work, cable routing, electrical connections, grounding, and equipment alignmentSupport solar panel system testing, commissioning, and functional checksIdentify installation deficiencies and coordinate appropriate corrective actionsSupervise preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activitiesEnsure completed repair work is properly tested and verified before the system is returned to operationAnalyze equipment conditions, alarm indications, monitoring data, and inspection results to identify potential issuesProvide technical recommendations to prevent recurring system failuresEnsure team members understand and comply with applicable safety proceduresSupervise the implementation of energy isolation, electrical safety, working-at-height, lifting, and other relevant safety proceduresEnsure materials used comply with the required specificationsPrepare daily, weekly, or periodic work reports as requiredMaintain inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, repair records, checklists, work orders, and other required technical documentationProvide technical guidance, coaching, and on-the-job support to Solar Panel TradesmanIdentify training and competency development needs within the teamPromote work discipline, effective communication, teamwork, and safe working practicesEnsure proper use of PPE and compliance with work instructions, SOPs, and emergency response proceduresImmediately report workplace accidents, serious damage, chemical spills, or potential hazards to the relevant supervisor or managementPerform other solar panel and engineering-related duties and responsibilities as assignedRequirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical fieldMinimum 2 years of relevant experience in solar photovoltaic systems, electrical systems, engineering maintenance, or related technical operationsExperience as a Senior Technician, Foreman, Team Leader, Supervisor, or in a similar role is preferredExperience in installation, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systemsExperience in industrial facilities, utilities, construction projects, energy, or related operations is preferred.Good understanding of solar photovoltaic systems and their operating principlesKnowledge of DC and AC electrical systemsKnowledge of inverters, combiner boxes, battery systems, monitoring systems, and electrical protection devicesAbility to read and interpret single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, layouts, and technical drawingsUnderstanding of testing, commissioning, grounding, energy isolation, and electrical safety proceduresKnowledge of preventive maintenance and troubleshooting methods for electrical equipmentAbility to use electrical measuring instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, and earth testersUnderstanding of HSE requirements, particularly electrical safety and working-at-height practicesAbility to inspect and identify problems in solar panel systemsAbility to read and understand technical manuals, equipment specifications, and data sheetsAbility to verify the quality of installation and maintenance workBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, email, and maintenance management systems where applicableAbility to work under pressure and respond appropriately to emergency situationsStrong leadership, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skillsWillingness to work in shifts, on holidays, or on an on-call basis as required by hotel operations
