Waggoner Engineering is seeking an experienced CE&I Senior Inspector – Transportation to support projects in the Birmingham or Huntsville, AL area. In this role, you will perform complex technical assignments involving field surveying, construction layout, engineering computations, construction inspections, and field testing. You will also coordinate and mentor lower-level inspectors while helping ensure construction activities meet applicable quality, performance, specification, and code requirements. Perform complex technical assignments involving field surveying and construction layout, marking, checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests. Perform daily field inspections and maintain accurate inspection records. Monitor construction activities for conformance with quality, performance, specification, and/or code requirements. Coordinate, manage, and mentor lower-level inspectors. Provide and coordinate on-the-job training for new employees. Work under the general supervision of the Resident Engineer/Project Engineer, using experience and judgment to plan and accomplish project goals. Establish and manage deadlines for assigned project responsibilities. Maintain safe work areas. Participate in punch lists, testing, and commissioning activities. Track quality assurance progress. Provide documentation and input for area and equipment turnovers.
