About this role
Trilon Group is a private equity-backed investment platform acquiring and scaling leading infrastructure consulting businesses. We partner with best-in-class firms to accelerate growth through investment in people, technology, operational capabilities, and targeted M&A. We are hiring a Vice President of Corporate Development to lead transactions from the first substantive conversation through diligence, negotiation, closing, and integration. This role offers significant autonomy and visibility. The Vice President will work closely with the Head of M&A, Trilon's executive team, regional leaders, and partner firm presidents while leading and developing Analysts and Associates. The position is well suited for someone with a strong M&A foundation who is ready to become accountable for moving complex transactions forward and ensuring each deal creates long-term value. The role is based in Trilon's Denver office and requires regular in-office presence. Lead three to five acquisitions annually across the full transaction lifecycle, from initial evaluation and seller engagement through diligence, negotiation, execution, and integration. Develop investment theses and evaluate strategic fit, financial performance, growth potential, risks, and value-creation opportunities. Direct financial modeling, valuation, deal structuring, and returns analysis, providing clear recommendations to senior leadership and the Investment Committee. Lead financial and operational diligence across revenue, clients, projects, employees, leadership, market position, and other critical areas of the business. Build trusted relationships with founders, owners, and management teams while representing Trilon's partnership model throughout the transaction process. Coordinate internal stakeholders and manage external legal, accounting, tax, insurance, market, and other transaction advisors. Prepare and present decision materials to Trilon's executive team and Investment Committee, clearly articulating the strategic rationale, economics, risks, and recommended path forward. Partner with regional and operating company leaders to align transaction decisions with business priorities and support a thoughtful transition into integration. Manage, mentor, and develop Analysts and Associates, setting clear expectations and raising the quality of analysis, judgment, and execution across the team.
