Waggoner Engineering is seeking an experienced CE&I Level 2 Inspector – Transportation to support projects in the Birmingham or Huntsville, AL area. In this role, you will independently inspect major construction activities and perform technical assignments involving field surveying, construction layout, engineering computations, construction inspections, and field testing. You will help ensure construction activities meet applicable quality, performance, specification, and code requirements while supporting the successful delivery of transportation projects. Independently inspect major work activities and perform assignments involving field surveying and construction layout, marking, checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests. Perform specialized inspection and testing duties. Perform daily field inspections and maintain accurate inspection records. Monitor construction activities for conformance with quality, performance, specification, and/or code requirements. Work under the general supervision of the Senior Inspector, using experience and judgment to plan and accomplish project goals. Assist with on-the-job training for new employees. Maintain safe work areas. Participate in punch lists, testing, and commissioning activities. Track quality assurance progress. Provide documentation and input for area and equipment turnovers.
