For more information visit www.pxlimited.com The Opportunity We are now recruiting for an Instrument Technician to join the day team on a 12 month fixed term basis. The Instrument Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all C&I assets. You will be responsible for the Inspection, Maintenance and testing of all Control and Instrumentation systems within the TeesREP power plant. You will carry out calibrations on C&I equipment and components which will include repairing, tuning, and replacement of C&I Components. Complete installation, calibrations, adjustments, troubleshooting and repairs on various types of power plant C&I Equipment and DCS, PLC control systems. Provide consistently high levels of supervision of contractors at the site. Uses test equipment including, but not limited to: field communicators, calibrators, voltmeters, ammeters, phase indicators, multi-function testers, and oscilloscopes, and able to calibrate Controllers. Ensure that all controls are operating and calibrated according to the manufacturer specifications and ensure they have been documented. Through research, prescribe preventative maintenance requirements for all C&I equipment for validation by engineering. Conduct preventive maintenance of C&I Assets and assure the quality of executing all PM tasks including recording detailed information in the CMMS. Ensure reliability/availability of all C&I equipment by monitoring preventive maintenance requirements on plant items. Following P&ID’s, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. Respond effectively to emergency fault conditions, when required. Perform and direct complex fault diagnosis on all plant equipment and control systems. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Test control systems and continuity of circuits in hardware wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. Ensure that all reporting within the Computerised Maintenance Management System is effective and followed through to completion promptly. Ensure all activities within the plant are carried out in a safe manner to prevent environmental impact ensuring this is in line with site Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and all legislative obligations.
