WELCOME TO BASF In addition to its own products, BASF Española S.L. markets more than 5,000 products from the BASF Group: chemical, organic and inorganic products, catalysts; phytosanitary products, plastic materials, dispersions and raw materials for the inks, paints, plastics, paper, ceramics and cosmetics industry. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Our GE Engineering Hub in Spain supports investment projects for all Operating Divisions with a focus on projects at sites in Europe. We are looking for a Hub Leader to further strengthen our team in Tarragona. As Hub Leader you are responsible for our multi-discipline team in Tarragona, Spain. You provide professional and technical guidance, project management support and continue to develop the team . It is all about people: You assign tasks that build on the skills and competencies of the team members and help them realize their potential, you i dentify and develop talents . You lead by example and shape a mindset of simplification and differentiation and build a culture with strong focus on safety, ownership, cross-regional and inter-cultural collaboration, trust and appreciation. From small to large projects, from first idea to realization: You actively guide your team with your experience and possibly take a role in capital projects and drive them to success with your expertise and leadership . You partner with our Operating Divisions, site and GE colleagues to offer competitive solutions for our BASF investments. You plan, manage, and coordinate the team members' assignments together with other stakeholders and GE Leaders to deliver successful engineering support and project execution services for our Operating Divisions. You work in a c ollaborative and trustful manner with colleagues from other teams and locations and contribute to or even lead global, regional, or local initiatives. Last but not least, you are strongly committed to the continuous improvement of our services and strengthening of our expertise and lead the team in this direction. This includes customer and site knowhow, e.g., manufacturing processes and assets , but also aspects of standarization and simplification , project development and execution, and knowledge of relevant vendors and engineering firms. WHAT YOU OFFER Bachelor or Master of Science degree in an engineering field Full professional proficiency in Spanish and English language At least 10 years of relevant working experience in production, engineering, construction, or maintenance within a chemical or manufacturing plant environment, experience as Project or Engineering Manager in large capital projects is highly desired Ideally proven managerial and disciplinary or functional leadership experience Ability to d efine, negotiate and evaluate project-related external services and supplies, and to successfully execute contracts with partners and vendors Ability to work autonomously and contribute within a global unit in a virtual environment Very strong customer focus and preferably strong network into other divisions and units Strong i nterpersonal skills, authentic communication style and a sense for diversity and people development A passion for people and projects WHAT WE OFFER We offer a wide range of responsibilities and improve the opportunities for our employees with on-the-job training, supported by an involved and competent team.
