About this role
WHAT THIS ROLE IS ABOUT The primary purpose of the Technology Management is to ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of chemical process operations by implementing, modifying, and monitoring processes in alignment with engineering specifications and operational control standards. This is achieved by applying chemical engineering principles to develop and document process improvements, coordinate cross-functional implementation activities, and resolve technical non-conformances across production units within the Verbund. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT • Operational control standards for chemical process units are defined, documented, and maintained to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and process safety requirements. • New or modified chemical processes and associated equipment are implemented in coordination with process engineers, with all technical and regulatory documentation completed prior to commissioning. • Quality and safety performance of chemical process operations is continuously monitored, with non-conformances identified, root-caused, and resolved through structured corrective action processes. • Technology roadmaps and asset strategies for process units are developed and aligned with site and business objectives, supporting operational excellence across Verbund production sites. • Cross-functional coordination with engineering, maintenance, production, and EHS teams is led to ensure seamless integration of process changes and technology upgrades into ongoing plant operations. WHAT EXPERTISE YOU BRING • A degree in chemical engineering, process engineering, or chemistry, or equivalent technical qualification combined with relevant hands-on process operations experience, is required. • Demonstrated experience in implementing and optimizing chemical processes within large-scale continuous or batch production environments, including familiarity with process safety concepts such as HAZOP and Global Process Safety Concepts (GPSC), is essential. • Proficiency in process documentation tools and plant information systems, with working knowledge of SAP PM/PP modules or equivalent, supports effective asset and operations management. • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German is strongly advantageous given the Verbund site context and collaboration with site teams across Ludwigshafen, Antwerp, and other global locations. • Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional, multicultural, and virtual team settings, including engagement with external technology partners, equipment vendors, and regulatory authorities, is expected.
