Description At BASF SE, the Digital Enterprise Architect plays a pivotal role in leading the digital transformation journey by harmonizing IT strategies with the overarching business vision. The Digital Enterprise Architect will work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure, and future-ready digital ecosystems that uphold the company's values and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Responsibilities Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive digital architecture frameworks that promote business agility and support rapid innovation cycles. Develop and implement security-first architectural principles, ensuring robust data protection and regulatory compliance across all digital transformation initiatives. Conduct in-depth analyses of existing IT and business process landscapes to identify integration gaps, technological redundancies, and opportunities for digital enhancement. Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration through structured knowledge-sharing platforms, workshops, and community-building activities, thereby strengthening the organization's collective digital expertise. Drive the design, development, and rollout of cutting-edge digital tools and platforms that optimize customer interactions and bolster competitive advantage. Mentor and guide technical teams in adopting best practices and innovative methodologies, fostering a proactive approach to emerging technology trends. Work closely with project management and business stakeholders to align digital solutions with corporate sustainability goals and long-term business strategies. Champion the adoption of agile and DevOps practices within architecture teams to enhance responsiveness and delivery speed. Education & Expectation A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is mandatory. Candidates holding master's degrees or specialized certifications in digital architecture, cloud platforms, or enterprise architecture frameworks will be highly valued. Extensive experience leading IT architecture and digital transformation projects within large, complex organizations, demonstrating a deep understanding of both technical and business domains. Proficiency in designing and managing cloud-based solutions, familiarity with multi-cloud environments, and knowledge of containerization and microservices architecture. Demonstrated expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#, along with experience in modern frameworks and development methodologies. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills, capable of deciphering complex systems and translating business needs into effective technical solutions. Strong leadership qualities with a track record of building and leading high-performing, diverse teams in collaborative, cross-functional settings. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and foster shared understanding across all organizational levels. A proactive learner who stays abreast of new technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continuously drive innovation within the company.
