WHAT THIS ROLE IS ABOUT The primary purpose of the General Technology is to apply engineering principles to implement, modify, and monitor chemical processes, equipment, and quality standards that ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production operations. This is achieved by conducting technical assessments, documenting operational controls, resolving process non-conformances, and supporting the alignment of plant-level technology execution with the organization's broader operational excellence and sustainability objectives. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT • Implements and modifies chemical processes, tools, and equipment to ensure conformance with operational control standards and quality specifications across production units. • Conducts quality and safety tests on materials and process streams, diagnosing and resolving non-conformances related to process, equipment, or material performance. • Documents operational control standards, process parameters, and technical procedures to maintain regulatory compliance and support knowledge transfer within the plant. • Supports the development and scale-up of new or modified chemical processes by collaborating with engineering and R&D teams during technology transfer and commissioning phases. • Contributes to operational excellence initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and recommending technology-driven improvements aligned with site and business unit strategies. WHAT EXPERTISE YOU BRING • A degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, process technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical qualification, is required. • Hands-on experience in chemical process operations, process monitoring, or technical service within a large-scale industrial or chemical manufacturing environment is essential. • Proficiency in applying process safety principles, quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001), and operational control methodologies relevant to chemical production is expected. • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages such as German, Mandarin, or other regional languages supports collaboration across global Verbund sites. • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, engage with external technology vendors and equipment suppliers, and operate within a globally distributed organizational structure is necessary.
