About the role: As a Principal Project Engineer you will The Global Instrumentation & Control (GIC) Instrumentation & Monitoring Systems team is looking for a Principal Project Engineer to support the design and delivery of multiple new plant projects and related innovation programs. The role will support the Instrumentation & Monitoring Systems Resource Manager as well as the technical team and project managers and be assigned to manage several technical areas. The Principal Project Engineer will effectively act in simultaneous Project Management, Issue manager, and Technical Leadership roles. The target applicant is highly performing, highly driven, self-starting, solution-oriented, and looking to build skills beyond traditional engineering. You will report to the Mgr, Instrumentation & Monitoring Systems • Safety & Reactor Systems Engineering and be hybrid at the New Stanton, PA facility. Key Responsibilities: Drive engineering delivery of required scope for RMS, SMS, IIS, Sensors, and TEDEV to support various projects/programs Manage and coordinate project/program requests, including reconciliation into engineering scopes of work Develop, manage, and drive schedule and budget Drive an accurate demand signal to the functional areas and work with Resource Managers to resource load schedules Identify gaps between scope, estimates, schedules, resource availability, and organizational expectations Identify and manage risks and issues, developing and driving recovery plans and escalating when needed Troubleshoot technical challenges and develop recovery plans Serve as the lead point of contact for Functional Area Leads and Project Managers Support Resource Manager, Project Managers, and Technical Leads as required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering At least 8 years of relevant work experience Previous experience on AP1000, APR1400, or AP300 preferred Knowledge of project management principles and a strong desire to work in a technical project management role Cognizance in at least one of the following technical areas: Integrated Systems Engineering Instrumentation and Monitoring Systems Product Development Independent Verification and Validation including Test Engineering Command of responsible subject matter as well as the product application life cycle and design process for the assigned subject matter area Establish effective networks across various functional areas across departments Ability to travel domestically and internationally as projects require (up to 10% for peak times) We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices.
