About this role: The Fullstack Software Engineer plays an integral part in a cross-functional team dedicated to the full software development lifecycle, from concept, to development to deployment and ultimately operating of each product. At this level, Software Engineers are responsible to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and enhance software systems and applications based on specifications, while adhering to established standards. They translate requirements from the business or technical analyst and actively participate with the delivery team in design and problem-solving. We need someone who is genuinely full-stack with at least 5 years' experience. Your experience must speak to both front and back end. What you'll do Build and maintain full-stack applications using C# (.NET) and Vue.js Design and implement cloud solutions on AWS Automate infrastructure and deployments using Terraform, GitOps and CI/CD pipelines Own features end to end – from technical design through release and production support Make sure production systems are scalable, reliable, secure and observable Work closely with DevOps, QA, Product and Architecture Take part in on-call rotations, incident resolution and root cause analysis Mentor engineers, lead code reviews and shape engineering standards What you need Must-have At least 5 years' experience delivering production systems C# (.NET 8/9/10) Vue.js (Vue 3, Composition API, Pinia), TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Vite Micro frontends and Module Federation Microservices, REST/gRPC APIs and event-driven design AWS (IAM, EKS, RDS, MSK/Kafka, Lambda, ElastiCache, S3) Terraform – modules, state management and environment provisioning Docker and Kubernetes CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD) Relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL), schema design and query optimisation Observability tools (Instana, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) Testing across unit, integration and end to end (xUnit, Vitest, Cypress or Playwright) Secure coding (OWASP Top 10) and data protection principles Good to have Java, Python (FastAPI) or Golang Kafka ecosystem – Kafka Streams, schema registries, outbox pattern AWS cost optimisation What we're looking for in you You take ownership and solve problems without being told twice You communicate clearly – to developers and non-technical stakeholders alike You make sound calls on the trade-offs between speed, quality and technical debt You're comfortable in a fast-moving, multi-language environment Education (Minimum) Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational Education (Ideal or Preferred) A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology Skills Analytical Skills Attention to Detail Communications Skills Interpersonal & Relationship management Skills Problem solving skills Additional Information Clear criminal and credit record Capitec is committed to diversity, applications to this position will strictly be considered in support of our employment equity goals.
