An opportunity has arisen within the acute Paediatric Wards/Children's Outpatient Department at Prince Charles Hospital .
We are looking for Registered Children's Nurses who are well motivated with good communication skill and a willingness to put the on-going care of children and their family's first.
We are looking for a passionate flexible team player to work in our friendly professional acute Paediatric Ward and Children's Outpatient Department, a person who has interest in expanding their knowledge base.
You would be joining a team of dedicated children nurses who will provide you with all the support you will need.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 16 months to cover maternity leave and sabbatical until November 2027

Main duties of the job
Take responsibility for the ward, for a span of duty, on a shift by shift basis in the absence of the ward manager/deputy sister. Work as a skilled member of the team and to provide high standards of holistic care to the child and family in a variety of settings. Be an effective team leader and role model to new/less experienced staff and others. Work as a flexible member of the ward team in support of the senior members of the team. Assess plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in conjunction with the multi disciplinary team. To ensure that treatment prescribed by the medical staff is carried out, and that multi-disciplinary team members are informed of changes in the patients' treatment and condition. To assist in the safety of the ward environment, actively participating in clinical audit, clinical risk and quality issues including reporting and incidents.

The Health Board currently operate a number of different shift systems. The most common are a 12.5 hour shift, inclusive of either one 30 minute or two 30-minute unpaid breaks. These shift patterns are subject to review and the Health Board reserves the right to change working arrangements.
