We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic HCPC registered Specialist BMS to join our team. You must be a strong team player who has a positive attitude to change. You must have excellent organisational and communication skills. The successful applicant will work as part of a team of staff based at the Royal Stoke University Hospital site.
The Infection Science Department at Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic and clinical services for two acute Hospitals, local GUM clinics and a wide range of community based health providers.
We also provide laboratory services to GPs and wider service users in the surrounding area. The Virology department is equipped with Roche Cobas e801, Diasorin Liaison XL, Biomerieux Vidas, Roche Cobas 8800, Cepheid GeneXpert, and Biomerieux Filmarray, among others . The hours of work for this post will be 37.5 hours per week over a 24/7 period.
Applicants will be expected to have significant virology experience preferably in an NHS Lab and be HCPC registered.

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join our team based at Royal Stoke University Hospital. You must be a strong team player who can effectively contribute to the on-going delivery and development of the service.
Please note the post holder will be required to participate in a shift rota, following a suitable period of training. Working days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays which is an integral part of this post.

Knowledge, skills & experience Essential
Previous experience of working in a Virology Laboratory environment Demonstrate broad knowledge of virology techniques Familiarity with IT systems in Pathology Experience of working in a team and alone Experience of working to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP); contributing to their review and implementation Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
Qualifications Essential
BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science or equivalent Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Desirable
Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) Specialist Diploma in Virology or equivalent
