Job summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated full-time Booking Assistant to join our Clinical Administration Booking Team based at the Administration Hub in Huntingdon. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, works well in a busy environment, and is committed to delivering an excellent patient experience. As a key member of the team, you will play an important role in supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey. The successful candidate will be responsible for booking outpatient appointments and inpatient admissions, handling a high volume of telephone calls, and accurately recording information across multiple IT systems. You will work closely with patients, clinical teams, and colleagues across the organisation to ensure appointments are arranged efficiently and within required timescales. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, accurate data entry skills, and a professional, patient-focused approach. You should be able to remain calm under pressure, manage competing priorities, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
*Delivering a high-quality, patient-focused administrative service.
*Booking outpatient appointments and inpatient admissions.
*Managing patient enquiries by telephone and email.
*Maintaining accurate patient records across multiple systems.
*Escalating concerns and potential issues to the Team Leader as appropriate.
*Supporting the smooth running of a centralised booking service.
Full training and support will be provided to help you develop and succeed in the role.
