About this role

Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity including Baby Beat currently has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Fundraising and Administration Assistant, based at Royal Preston Hospital. This is a full-time role that combines office-based work with time spent in the community, attending fundraising events and supporting our valued donors and volunteers. Main duties of the job

Support the Lancashire Teaching Hospital Charity team including Baby Beat to implement multi-year strategies to increase income andsupport for them across all areas of fundraising, ensuring donors and supporters receive appropriate stewardship, as well as providing retail administrative, charity administrative and finance support.

You will often be the first point of contact with donors, customers, volunteers, supporters, Trust staff and suppliers.

This post is predominately office-based working with the need to work in the community at fundraising events along with supporting and stewarding the charity's supporters and donors.

You'll need to be flexible, enthusiastic, and confident when working with the public, as you'll sometimes represent the charity at community events.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a supportive and fast-paced charity environment, where your contribution will truly make a difference.

A car and driving license are essential for this post as the post holder will be required to drop of fundraising resources, meet with donors and fundraisers, support fundraising events and attend third party fundraising activities and functions across Lancashire.

Job description Job responsibilities

Providing general fundraising support across all areas as needed

Support the charity team to grow income through excellentstewardship and relationship support. This will includesupporting wider fundraising activities and leading on lower valuefundraising initiatives

Provide administrative support for whole Hospital charity team(including Baby Beat), including but not limited to:To log donations and generate acknowledgement letters via thedonor databaseTo assist with general finance tasks and the counting and bankingof monies in accordance with Standing Financial Instructions Administration and processing of various digital donation and evententry platforms such as Just Giving, Enthuse and Trybooking

Contributing to donor recruitment, donor retention, and the development of fundraising programmes and events.

Baby Beat Shop administration including but not limited to theprocessing of shop income and expenditure, ordering of all stock,stock pricing, stock control and annual stock takes to ensuremaximum profitability. Responsible for producing monthly retail reports as required to support financial accounting and audit requirements

Supervision of shop volunteers ensuring that the shop rota iscoordinated to maximise opening hours

Person Specification

Knowledge & Experience Essential

Experience of working to and achieving financial targets Working knowledge of a donor management system or equivalent Computer literate - Microsoft Office packages Experience of dealing with sensitive issues

Desirable

Knowledge of GDPR in relation to fundraising Previous experience working within a charity, fundraising or related role (e.g. marketing / sales)

Qualifications & Education Essential

GCSE Maths and English or equivalent qualifications or equivalent work experience Full UK Driving License

Desirable

Educated to AS and A level or equivalent experience Membership of Chartered Institute of Fundraising
