Semi-Truck Driver
Job Description: At Colony Brands, we're committed to delivering quality products and exceptional service to our customers. Join our Sun Prairie Distribution Center team and play a key role in keeping our operations moving safely and efficiently. As a Semi Truck Driver, you'll be responsible for transporting products, materials, and equipment between our Sun Prairie facility, outside storage locations, and other company warehouses. You'll also support yard management activities and assist with warehouse operations as needed to ensure efficient daily operations. We're looking for a safety-focused, dependable driver who enjoys working independently and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly.
What You’ll Do You'll spend most of your time transporting products and materials between company facilities and storage locations while ensuring compliance with DOT and company safety requirements. You'll also help maintain an organized trailer yard and assist with warehouse-related tasks when needed.
You'll also be responsible for: •Conducting daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment •Staging trailers and containers for inbound and outbound operations •Managing trailer and container placement within the yard •Transporting products, pallets, maintenance materials, and recyclable materials •Loading and unloading trailers and transfer shipments •Receiving and locating inventory within the warehouse •Following all company, DOT, and safety policies and procedures consistently
Qualifications: What It Takes The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years’ experience operating tractor-trailers, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently. This role requires strong communication skills, time management, and flexibility to work varying hours and days as business needs require.
In addition, we are looking for: • Class A CDL required. • Minimum of 1-2 years’ of Class A CDL driving experience preferred. • Ability to meet all DOT requirements. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Strong communication and customer service skills. • Flexibility to manage changing routes, schedules, and business needs. • Dependability, accountability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform basic truck inspections and equipment checks. • Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment. • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments. •Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
