Position Summary Siouxland Christian School is seeking a dedicated, engaging educator who loves God, loves teachers, and loves kids to serve as a Long-Term Substitute 3rd Grade Elementary Teacher. The candidate will assume full instructional and classroom management responsibilities for a 3rd-grade classroom during a staff leave of absence. This role requires delivering high-quality, Biblically integrated instruction across core elementary subjects (Reading/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies), maintaining a supportive classroom environment, assessing student progress, and collaborating with school staff. State teaching certification in Elementary Education is strongly preferred. Applicants must be a born-again Christian and have a deep reverence and love for the Bible. Key Responsibilities
• Instruction & Biblical Integration:
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in 3rd-grade core subjects while integrating a Biblical worldview.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the varying academic, developmental, and spiritual needs of elementary students.
• Utilize educational technology tools (e.g., Alma, Seesaw, or other learning management systems) to support instruction and home-school communication.
• Classroom Management & Culture:
• Maintain a safe, structured, nurturing, and Christ-centered classroom environment that encourages student learning and spiritual growth.
• Establish clear rules and conduct expectations consistent with school policies and Biblical principles.
• Assessment & Communication:
• Evaluate student coursework, tests, and assignments in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and performance records in the school portal.
• Communicate proactively with parents and guardians regarding student academic progress, behavior, and spiritual development.
• Professional Responsibilities:
• Attend scheduled grade-level team meetings, elementary faculty meetings, and opportunities for staff spiritual development as required.
• Follow all school policies, safety guidelines, and professional ethical standards.
Education Requirements
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field required.
• Certification (Strongly Preferred): Valid State Teaching License/Certification in Elementary Education (K–6 or K–8) or Iowa teaching license/equivalent. Candidates holding a valid Substitute Teaching Credential with a strong background in elementary instruction will also be considered.
