Position Overview ACS Athens is seeking a dedicated, highly organized, and compassionate School Nurse to join our holistic health and well-being team. As a core member of our campus health services, you will deliver student-centered healthcare, promote wellness, manage chronic conditions, and maintain a safe learning environment. This role combines clinical expertise with emergency intervention, educational outreach, and health administration, serving as a trusted partner for students, families, and staff. Key Responsibilities Direct Healthcare & Emergency Intervention
• Conduct health assessments and screenings (e.g., vision, lice) to identify and address student health concerns early.
• Provide immediate triage, first aid, emergency care, and emotional support for acute illnesses, injuries, and health crises across campus.
• Administer prescribed medications and manage comprehensive Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with chronic health conditions.
• Oversee communicable disease monitoring, active prevention protocols, and reporting in line with health guidelines.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration & Compliance
• Maintain accurate, strictly confidential digital health records and log systems.
• Serve as the designated Health Specialist in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings to align health accommodations with academic support.
• Act as a direct liaison between families, faculty, and external healthcare providers to promote holistic student well-being.
School Health Operations & Environment
• Assist in developing, updating, and executing campus health protocols, safety policies, and emergency action plans.
• Support school operations, including new student registration health verifications, staff first-aid training, and campus emergency kit preparation.
• Provide medical coverage for after-school activities, PTO functions, and home athletic events as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
• Current, unrestricted Professional Nursing License / Certification to practice.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or a related field.
• Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
• Hands-on experience in first aid, emergency care, and clinical nursing practice.
• Strong interpersonal, crisis-de-escalation, and cross-cultural communication skills.
Preferred:
• Prior clinical experience in Pediatric Nursing or a school-based setting.
• Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced educational community.
