EXTRA DUTY POSITION - IN ADDITION TO PRIMARY JOB DUTIES Pom Coach Piedmont Public Schools is seeking a motivated and organized High School Pom Coach to lead and develop a competitive, school-spirited pom/dance program. The coach will be responsible for teaching fundamentals of pom and dance, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, and representing the district positively at performances, competitions, and community events. Primary Responsibilities Coaching & Instruction
• Design and implement a comprehensive dance program that teaches fundamental skills, technique, and choreography for sideline performances and competitions. Promote cooperation and collaboration between cheer and pom spirit teams.
Practice & Scheduling
• Develop and lead weekly practice plans focused on skill development, physical conditioning, and performance precision.
Game Day & Events
• Supervise and attend all performances at games and school-related events, ensuring the team is prepared, professional, and well-represented. Coordinate coverage and rotation of responsibilities for games, tournaments, and events between the coach and sponsor(s). Provide direct supervision of athletes at all games, tournaments, and competitions.
Competition Management
• Prepare the team for competitions, including registration, travel logistics, and performance readiness. Provide supervision of student-athletes for the entirety of each event—from arrival until students are formally released to their parents.
Safety & Compliance
• Enforce all safety guidelines, including proper warm-ups, stretching, and concussion protocols. Ensure full compliance with OSSAA rules, policies, and regulations.
