About this role

Job summary As a key member of the theatre team, you will support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include

Supporting Nurses and Consultants during surgical procedures.

Main duties of the job Assisting Scrub Nurses within operating theatres. Supporting patients within the anaesthetic room. Safely transporting patients to and from theatre and wards. Opening sterile packs and preparing equipment for procedures. Preparing, checking and handling surgical instruments. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and control. Contributing to a safe, efficient and high-quality theatre environment. Providing reassurance and support to patients throughout their theatre experience.

Spire Hartswood Hospital is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Theatre Assistant to join our busy Operating Theatre team.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant, Support Worker or within a hospital setting NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, Care Certificate or equivalent. Previous theatre experience (desirable)
