About this role

Job summary

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is part of the East London NHS Foundation Trust & provides community-based services for children and young people with mental health problems across TH. The services are made up of various multi-disciplinary teams including the following teams; Triage Team, Neurodevelopment Team, Emotional and Behavioral Team, Complex Needs Team and Mental Health Schools Team.

At CAMHS we work with children and young people up to the age of 18 years old. We are committed to working in partnership with service users, their families & their social networks to provide treatment to young people suffering from mental health disorders including Depression, Psychosis, Eating Disorders, Self-Harm and Emotional Problems.

Our clinical teams rely on efficient administration systems and processes. This includes accurate data collection, reporting and efficient electronic administrative systems management.

Main duties of the job

To provide front of house/reception cover and general administration to all CAMHS clinicians and managers, and their teams.

The post holder will be required to work in a busy and demanding environment and should be able to work without direct supervision and to exercise initiative. The ability to multi-task is also essential.

The post requires the ability to work on own initiative and to liaise effectively with a broad range of professions and to maintain client confidentiality.

Person Specification

Education/ Qualification/ Training Essential

oEnglish & Math's GCSE or equivalent oGood standard of written and spoken English

Desirable

oNVQ in Administration Certificates oMicrosoft applications or equivalent

Experience Essential

oAdvanced Administration Skills (e.g., producing reports, letters, minute taking, compiling legal documents, communicating with professionals and clients, etc.) oGood knowledge and experience of the MS Office suite oExcellent verbal & written communication skills

Desirable

oExperience in an NHS/Health Care setting oExperience of setting up administrative systems oCompiling data reports oHealth/Social Care patient information systems i.e., RIO

Knowledge & Skills Essential

oGood knowledge of Microsoft applications including MS Teams, Office 365 and OneDrive oProven ability to manage workload & meet deadlines oExcellent verbal & written communication skills including letter writing, word processing and supporting meetings oEffective communication skills across a range of staff Ability to recognise problems & apply problem solving skills oAbility to use own initiative, work without the need for direct supervision and prioritise own work oAbility to work as part of a team oAn understanding and ability to work with families from a population with a diverse ethnic, racial and cultural mix and families with a high level of deprivation oExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent telephone manner oAbility to deal with distressed clients in a sympathetic manner oAbility to set objectives for team members and monitor progress oAbility to maintain strict confidentiality in all matters relating to clients oAbility to liaise with service users and multidisciplinary teams in a pleasant and helpful manner oSelf-motivated with ability to work on own initiative without supervision oAbility to demonstrate flexibility with the changing needs of the service oStrong time management and organisational skills oAbility to work in a very busy and occasionally challenging environments
