About this role

Job summary

The post holder will support the supervision and training of a team of support workers who rotate through procurement and distribution. The post holder

will assist in good receiving duties and the general supply of medicines, receive and check deliveries of pharmacy stock, assemble I.V. fluids and stock medicines for delivery to wards/departments and assist in the return of medicines. The post holder will consistently work in an accurate, effective and efficient manner to support the provision of a high-quality service to patients, trust staff and departments.

Main duties of the job

1 To assist in the assembly of stock to wards and departments.

1. To mark and assemble I.V. fluids for delivery to wards and departments.

2. To accurately compute stock orders for wards and departments.

3. To assist in ensuring work is prioritised effectively within the department.

4. To assist with the top-up service as directed by the Technician Team manager (after appropriate training.)

5. To assist with the EDC and OMNICEL top-up.

6. To complete other tasks within distribution as directed by the Lead Technician

7. To manage the process of medication returns within the department in a timely manner

8. To handle bulk fluids accurately ensuring accurate storage and handling.

Education and professional qualifications Essential

Holds an NVQ Pharmacy Service Level 2

Desirable

Experience Portfolio demonstrating competence of previous and current pharmacy practice skills, knowledge and CPD

Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust shared commitments

Experience Essential

Demonstrate Pharmacy Computer and IT Skills Demonstrated ability to accurately complete complex routine and nonroutine tasks as indicated in the job description

Post qualification experience of hospital pharmacy. Knowledge of the GPHc Standards of conduct, ethics and performance
