Job summary
The De Parys Group is seeking an experienced and dynamic clinical pharmacy leader to provide overall operational and clinical leadership of the pharmacy service at The De Parys Group. This position is offered on a full-time basis.The postholder will lead a safe, resilient and increasingly clinically focused service, develop the pharmacy workforce, and work with the GP Pharmacy Partners and wider organisational leadership to deliver the future model of medicines optimisation and pharmacy care.You will be based across our 5 sites in Bedford (4 clinical and 1 non- clinical) in accordance with business needs.
Main duties of the job
Provide overall operational and clinical leadership, direction and accountability for the Pharmacy service. Lead service performance using data, KPIs and service intelligence to improve productivity, medicines safety, quality and workforce performance. Lead workforce planning, capacity, deployment and resilience, working closely with the rota and HR teams. Develop and embed the Pharmacy operating model, including the Acute/Duty Medicines, Repeat Prescribing/Re-authorisation, and Care Homes/Frailty/SMR workstreams. Ensure responsibility is appropriately distributed across senior pharmacists, with clear specialist areas, supervision, development and escalation arrangements. Lead medicines optimisation, medication review and repeat re-authorisation pathways, ensuring work is undertaken by the right professional at the right level of competence. Act as a senior clinical role model, mentor and source of professional leadership while maintaining advanced clinical credibility. Support the GP Pharmacy Partners with long-term strategic development, service transformation and financial sustainability.

Person Specification
Experience Essential
Substantial senior pharmacy leadership experience, preferably in primary care/general practice; experience of operational leadership, workforce management, service performance and complex change. Advanced clinical knowledge in primary care; medicines optimisation; medication review and repeat re-authorisation; high-risk medicines and monitoring; multidisciplinary working. Experience of medicines governance, policies, incidents, audit/QI, patient safety and use of performance data. Experience of line management, clinical supervision, appraisal, performance management, coaching/mentoring and workforce development. Highly developed leadership, communication, influencing and organisational skills; able to prioritise, delegate, challenge constructively, manage competing demands and hold teams accountable. Able to use digital systems and data to redesign pathways, improve productivity and reduce avoidable work.
Qualifications Essential
Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent; current GPhC registration; Independent Prescriber or demonstrable commitment/route to IP where appropriate.
