This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding Mental Health Support Team (MHST) service across Hampshire at a time of continued growth and development. We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and motivated professional to provide operational, clinical, and professional leadership to one of our MHSTs.
As an MHST Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in leading a multidisciplinary team of Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs), Children's Wellbeing Practitioners (CWPs) and Senior Wellbeing Practitioners. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high quality, evidence-based mental health interventions, ensuring safe and effective practice, and promoting positive outcomes for young people, families, and education settings.
You will provide day-to-day leadership, line management, and clinical oversight to team members, supporting their professional development, wellbeing, and performance. You will work collaboratively with schools, partner agencies, and stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of the MHST model and Whole School Approach.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve:
*Providing leadership and operational management within the MHST.
*Supporting and developing the EMHP, CWP, and wider practitioner workforce.
*Delivering and overseeing evidence-based interventions for children and young people presenting with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
*Providing clinical guidance, consultation, and risk management support to staff.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
*A recognised post graduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (or equivalent). *Accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP). *A recognised qualification in one of the core mental health professions recognised by BABCP, e.g. psychiatric nursing, clinical psychology, medicine, social work, occupational therapy or counselling AND current registration with the core professional body, OR evidence of having achieved the Knowledge Skills and Attitudes (KSA) route to BABCP accreditation. *Evidence of relevant continuing professional development. *Evidence of post qualification training in clinical supervision relevant to service provision
Experience Essential
*Substantial experience in mental health after completing core professional qualification. *Substantial post-qualification / accreditation experience of specialist psychological therapy (assessment, formulation, and treatment), maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse, and the threat of physical abuse. *A high level of competence in applying a psychological therapy to complex difficulties appropriate for this therapy with the client group, and a proven track record of delivering positive outcomes in this therapy *Experience of offering teaching, training, and supervision within a demanding Organisational context. *A clear and theoretically informed approach to supervision *Experience of representing psychological therapy within the context of multi-disciplinary care within a complex Organisational context. *Significant experience of working with the particular client group served by the team / service. *Knowledge of guidance and legislation in relation to the client group. *A high-level specialist knowledge of the theory and practice of specialist psychological therapy as specified in the appendix, as applied to the client group using this service. *Experience of the application of psychological therapy in different cultural contexts and experience of working within a multicultural framework. *Evidence of continuing professional development as required by the professional registration/accrediting body specified in the appendix. *Knowledge of educational environments. *Knowledge of safeguarding issues. *Knowledge of capacity and consent issues including Gillick competence. *Experience of working and liaising with a wide variety of agencies and stakeholders. *Experience of working with anxiety disorders. *Experience of working with affective (mood) disorders. *Experience of navigating complex social systems and environments, who may have conflicting priorities or agendas. *Experience of working with other vulnerable groups (such as LD). *Demonstrable knowledge and competence of low intensity cognitive behavioural interventions *Demonstrable knowledge and competence of the whole school approached to mental health in education settings. *Minimum of 2-4 years working therapeutically within a CYP Mental Health Setting. *Experience of delivering CBT informed supervision.
