We are looking for a dedicated Reconciliation Team Lead to lead our Reconciliation team within Finance Operations at our Limassol office in Cyprus.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, supervise and develop the Reconciliation team, allocating work, reviewing output and acting as the main point of escalation.
• Oversee daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations of transactions and balances across acquirers, PSPs, card schemes and bank accounts, ensuring they are completed accurately and on time.
• Review and sign off merchant settlement and payout reconciliations, ensuring amounts reflect processed volumes, agreed pricing, fees, refunds, chargebacks and reserves.
• Oversee interchange and scheme fee validation, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
• Own safeguarding reporting, overseeing the daily monitoring of safeguarded merchant funds and ensuring any breaks are escalated and resolved promptly.
• Assist in setting up reconciliation processes, procedures and flows for our orchestration activities and for our banking operations ahead of go-live.
• Oversee daily bank account reconciliations, including merchant accounts, as our banking operations go live.
• Oversee the investigation and resolution of complex and aged breaks, ensuring records and the audit trail are complete.
• Establish and maintain reconciliation procedures and documentation, driving continuous process improvement.
• Act as the main point of contact for reconciliation matters with internal teams and external partners.
• Support month-end close and audit requests.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in reconciliation, payments, finance operations or a similar role, including at least 2 years leading a team.
• Experience within a PSP, FinTech or EMI environment is preferred; candidates from banking or financial services will also be considered.
• Strong understanding of banking and payment flows, including settlement cycles, merchant payouts, chargebacks and reserves.
• Experience with card payments or acquiring, including interchange and scheme fees, is an advantage.
• Proven experience setting up or improving reconciliation processes and procedures.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Well organised, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
