Job summary
The Integrated Local Services Directorate is seeking to appoint to two Full-time Clinical Fellow posts in Palliative Medicine. We have different posts available dependent on candidate experience (please consult the linked job descriptions and person specifications for further information).

The Palliative and End of Life Care service at Guy's and St Thomas' has a strong record of high quality clinical care, service innovation and quality improvement. We work closely with colleagues in our King's Health Partners' Palliative Care Clinical Academic Group and the post holder will have the opportunity to engage with our portfolio of education and research.
Main duties of the job
This post is within the multidisciplinary palliative care and end of life care service which manages patients within hospital advisory services, community teams and outpatient clinics. The post-holder will be supported to develop clinical and strategic links with community and hospital colleagues in all relevant specialties to support the delivery of high quality palliative and end of life care.
This post offers an excellent opportunity to join a first-class team working to deliver innovative pathways of care for the local population in an active and progressive central London teaching hospital environment, which is part of a wider Academic Health Sciences Centre.

Qualifications and Training Essential
Full GMC Registration MB BS (or equivalent)
Desirable
Diploma in palliative medicine or other relevant specialty Advanced communication skills training MRCP, MRCGP, FRCA or equivalent
Clinical Governance: Research, QI, Audit Essential
Evidence of contribution to effective clinical Audit and / or Quality Improvement(QI) work Understanding of clinical risk management
Desirable
Evidence of original peer-reviewed research Experience in clinical guideline development
Teaching skills & experience Essential
Experience of teaching and training undergraduates and postgraduates
Desirable
Evidence of having designed, organised and delivered teaching
Knowledge and Skills Essential
Demonstrates a holistic evidence-based approach to patient care
Desirable
An understanding of the issues and challenges relevant to provision of specialist palliative care in acute and community settings
Clinical experience Essential
At least three years post graduate experience. With experience across palliative care / general medicine / care of the elderly /general practice / oncology / haematology Must have at least 3 consecutive months experience working in Palliative care

Experience in chairing/leading Multi-disciplinary Meetings Experience of participating in a Palliative Care on call rota Knowledge, skills and experience of managing common palliative care emergencies independently with remote senior support as required.
