Job summary
We are seeking an outstanding Deputy General Manager to provide senior operational leadership across these directorates.
As a key member of the WLCH (West London Children's Healthcare) senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how services are delivered--ensuring safe, effective and compassionate care, alongside an excellent experience for children, young people and their families. You will attend and actively contribute to the monthly WLCH Team Brief, lead directorate boards, and engage directly with teams through local meetings to drive performance, quality improvement and a strong one-team culture.
Working in close partnership with an expert multidisciplinary triumvirate, you will hold collective responsibility for all aspects of operational management and service delivery. This will include oversight of performance, workforce, finance, governance and transformation--translating strategic ambition into operational reality.

Our services are organised into three Clinical Directorates:
General and Acute Medicine and Surgery Critical Care and Medical Specialties Child Development Services and Neurology
Main duties of the job
Be intensely patient focused, ensuring that patient quality and care is at the forefront of their decision making. Be accountable for the operational performance of services within the two acute campuses and two community services that sit within their remit. This will include delegated responsibility for the delivery of high quality patient care, clinical governance, patient safety, clinical quality and delivery of financial targets. Be responsible for setting the strategy and direction of their directorate.o Play a key role in supporting the delivery of our aspirations for integrated children and young people's services. Work closely with the General Manager and wider senior leadership team to deliver ambitious plans to transform services for children and young people both within WLCH and across North West London with a focus on improving equity of access and outcomes. Be a visible leader with a strong ability deliver on a complex portfolio of services across multiple sites.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
First degree or equivalent in a healthcare related profession Extensive knowledge of the NHS in the acute sector with up to date knowledge of patient services Evidence of CPD
Experience Essential
Significant experience within the Healthcare sector including responsibility for planning and budgetary control for a group of complex medical/surgical specialities Demonstrable success in delivering large scale change and performance with and through management and clinical teams Track record of performance and financial delivery Experience of managing a leadership structure and developing strong internal governance.
Desirable
Well developed IT skills to manage and report on complex performance management information
Skills Essential
Strategic vision - ability to develop and communicate a clear vision for the services and align strategies to long term goals Change management: skilled in leading and managing organisational change including implementing new processes, technologies and initiatives Experience of developing your team to shape excellence in practice.
