Based in Lynfield, AsureQuality has the largest Food Testing Laboratory in the Southern Hemisphere. To keep our laboratory running smoothly we need a person to support Stores, Warehousing, Inventory and Despatch within the business. This is a permanent role working Monday to Friday.
About the role
We are looking for a practical, organised and customer-focused person to join our Inventory & Logistics team.
This is a varied, hands-on role primarily focused on customer order fulfilment and dispatch, with responsibility for processing consumable orders from receipt through to picking, packing and dispatch via our third-party logistics providers.
The role combines inventory and dispatch activities with systems-based order processing, customer communication and general administration. You will need to be equally comfortable working on a computer, responding to customer enquiries and working within our inventory and dispatch areas.
Accuracy and attention to detail are important, as the role includes stock, batch and product documentation checks as well as providing information to support customer invoicing.
Key responsibilities
Receive and process customer orders for consumablesPick, pack and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently for dispatchArrange and coordinate dispatch through our third-party logistics and courier service providersRespond to and action customer order queries, concerns and complaints, escalating where appropriateMaintain accurate order, dispatch and inventory information within relevant systemsReceive, check, store and issue inventory as requiredCheck stock batches, expiry information and Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) where applicableSupport stock rotation and good inventory control practicesProvide accurate order and dispatch information to support customer invoicingComplete general administrative and record-keeping activities associated with customer orders and inventoryAssist with stocktakes and inventory checks as requiredMaintain clean, organised and safe inventory and dispatch areasWork collaboratively with internal teams and service providers to resolve order and delivery issuesSupport other Inventory & Logistics activities as required
Skills and experience
We are looking for someone with:
Previous experience in dispatch, order fulfilment, stores, inventory or warehousingA basic understanding of warehouse and inventory processesExperience picking, packing and preparing orders for dispatchGood computer skills and confidence working across different systemsMicrosoft Excel skills and experience with general data entry and record keepingConfidence using email as part of day-to-day customer communicationStrong customer service skills and the ability to professionally manage customer queries and complaintsExcellent attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracyGood administrative and organisational skillsThe ability to prioritise and manage multiple orders and competing tasksThe ability to follow established procedures and recognise when an issue needs to be escalatedClear written and verbal communication skillsA reliable and practical approach with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Experience working with inventory or order-processing systems, batch-controlled products, Certificates of Analysis or third-party logistics providers would be advantageous.
What we're looking for
You don't necessarily need extensive warehousing experience to be successful in this role. More importantly, we're looking for someone who is organised, accurate, comfortable using systems, responsive to customers and willing to take ownership of getting an order from receipt through to dispatch.
You'll enjoy this role if you like variety, have a practical approach to problem-solving and are comfortable balancing hands-on dispatch activities with customer service and administration.
Previous experience as a Warehouse or Stores Operator, Despatch and or 3PL and courier service
