We're looking for a detail-oriented and organized Commis - I (Chinese) to join our culinary team in Gurugram, India. In this entry-level chef position, you will work under the guidance of senior chefs to prepare authentic Chinese cuisine while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and kitchen efficiency. Prepare and cook Chinese dishes according to established recipes and culinary standardsAssist in food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and organizing ingredientsMaintain proper food safety and hygiene protocols in all kitchen operationsOperate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including woks, steamers, and other specialized Chinese cooking toolsSupport senior chefs in executing daily meal service with precision and attention to detailOrganize and maintain mise en place (preparation of ingredients) for assigned stationsCollaborate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely food preparationMonitor inventory levels and report on ingredient usage as directedFollow all plating and presentation standards to ensure consistency and qualityAssist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff when requiredMaintain a clean and organized work station throughout service Proficiency in Chinese cooking techniques and methodsStrong knowledge of Chinese cuisine ingredients, flavor profiles, and regional specialtiesDemonstrated knife skills and food preparation techniquesUnderstanding of food safety and hygiene standards and regulationsAbility to follow recipes and cooking instructions with precisionStrong time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced kitchen environmentExcellent teamwork and interpersonal skillsPhysical stamina to work in a demanding kitchen environmentAttention to detail and commitment to qualityPreferred: Prior experience working in a professional kitchen or restaurant settingPreferred: Familiarity with multiple Chinese regional cuisinesPreferred: Basic English communication skills for effective team collaboration experience is an asset
Prior experience working with Opera or a related system

Fluency in English, additional languages are a plus
