About this role
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the:
Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly serviceMust have a good working knowledge of basic HVAC systems such as fan coils, air handling units, exhaust fans and make up air units. Maintenance of these systems will include lubricating bearings or replacement, and checking / changing drive belts, lubricate and adjust of air dampersIs able to Mig, Tig , stick and gas weldingMaintain the laundry equipmentMaintain the kitchen equipmentMaintain all pumps, is able to replaced mechanical seals when needed, check impellers and bearing replacementConducts test to the Fire and life system, by doing regular emergency Diesel testsMaintain all shop tools and equipment as neededRespond to guest and colleagues requests throughout the facility to make necessary repairs to accommodate the customer’s needs in a timely and courteous mannerPerforms preventive maintenance of all areas as assignedRepair, maintain and trouble-shoot all equipment in accordance, with schematics, operations manuals and manufacturer’s maintenance instructionsConsistently document the completion of assigned work orders;Maintain and organize a properly stocked storeroom by keeping an inventory of supplies, parts and equipment manuals to quickly complete repairsMust be knowledgeable of OSHA work place safety standards which include but are not limited to PPE, ladder safety, lock out tag out, electrical tool safety, etcAbility to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require patience, tact and diplomacyMust have intermediate computer skills and abilities in Word and & Excel softwareAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations;Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in either written oral, diagram or schedule formHelp others as required/other duties as assigned. Must be a licensed journeymen mechanic with a minimum of 7 years in the tradeGraduate from a technical schoolPrevious hotel experience is an asset Physical Aspects of Position (included but not limited to):
Constant standing and walking throughout shiftMust be able to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs.)Frequent bendingVisa Requirements: Must already be legally able to work in Canada
