About this role
We're looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Maintenance Team Member to join our team on a part-time basis in Brighton, United Kingdom. In this role, you'll play a vital part in keeping our facilities running smoothly and safely. You'll work collaboratively with our maintenance team and external contractors to ensure all building systems, equipment, and assets are well-maintained and functioning optimally. Undertake and manage various general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, telecommunications, heating systems, carpentry, and decoratingConduct routine inspections of premises, equipment, and assets to identify maintenance needs and perform both reactive and preventive maintenanceInstall, inspect, and troubleshoot equipment, appliances, and building systems to ensure optimal performancePerform basic repairs and maintenance work with minimal disruption to occupants and visitorsMaintain and replace heating, air conditioning, and distribution systems as requiredCoordinate and oversee external contractors and service providers, ensuring they adhere to service agreements and organizational proceduresMaintain detailed records and daily logs of all repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment statusActively contribute to workplace safety by ensuring emergency exits remain clear and identifying potential hazardsChampion environmental sustainability initiatives, including energy conservation, recycling, and waste management practicesComply with health and safety directives, including Legionnaires' disease prevention protocolsReport stock levels and maintenance supply requirements to managementUndertake appropriate training to develop expertise and stay current with industry best practices **Required Skills and Experience:**
Proven experience in general maintenance work across multiple disciplines (plumbing, electrical, heating, carpentry)Demonstrated ability to install, inspect, and troubleshoot equipment and building systemsStrong organizational and record-keeping skills with attention to detailExcellent communication and collaborative abilities to work effectively with team members and contractorsSolid problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and efficientlyPhysical capability to perform manual maintenance tasks and work at heights when necessaryReliability, punctuality, and flexibility to accommodate part-time schedulingKnowledge of health and safety regulations and commitment to maintaining safe work practices**Preferred Qualifications:**
Experience with HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systemsFamiliarity with building management systems and preventive maintenance protocolsExperience coordinating with external contractors and service providersKnowledge of environmental sustainability practices and energy efficiency standardsPrevious experience in a hospitality, corporate, or facilities management environment**Personal Attributes:**
