About this role
We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Southampton as our new Room Attendant. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Housekeeping, the Room Attendant is a vital member of the Housekeeping team and is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, presentation, and comfort of guest rooms at Fairmont Southampton. This role ensures that guest rooms meet our high standards of cleanliness and hospitality, contributing to an exceptional guest experience by providing attentive and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Room Cleaning & Preparation
Thoroughly clean and maintain guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, and cleaning bathrooms to brand standards.
Restock guest room amenities, supplies, and toiletries as required.
Stage and place guest amenities, welcome items, and special requests according to guest preferences and hotel standardsEnsure rooms are ready for guest arrival and consistently maintained throughout a guest’s stay.
Guest Interaction & Service
Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests for cleaning or additional services.
Provide friendly, professional service and information, supporting overall guest satisfaction.
Respect guest privacy and security at all times.
Maintenance Reporting & Safety
Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or operational concerns to the Executive Housekeeper.
Follow all safety procedures, handling equipment and cleaning materials according to hotel protocols.
Teamwork & Operational Support
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area, including housekeeping carts and supplies.
Work effectively both independently and as part of the Housekeeping team.
Assist with special cleaning projects or deep cleaning tasks as assigned.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support the overall operations of the hotel and ensure an exceptional guest experience. What will you bring to this role?

Experience
Previous experience in housekeeping, room attendant, or a related cleaning role is preferred, ideally in a luxury hotel or resort environment.
Experience responding to guest requests and adhering to quality standards is an asset.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Competencies, Knowledge & Skills
Strong attention to detail with high cleanliness and presentation standards.
Excellent time management and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
Professional customer service skills with a friendly, guest‑focused attitude.
Ability to follow safety procedures, operational protocols, and respect guest privacy.
Organized and capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
