About this role

Reporting to the Portfolio General Manager, you will manage all aspects of the maintenance and engineering functions of our hotels and be an integral part of the portfolio leadership team. Leading a small, dedicated team, you will provide support and information to the General Manager, the Hotel Managers of each of our hotels, and the wider team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Ensure compliance standards are met in aspects of building, equipment, energy consumption, water, contractors, and environmental programs.Lead brand compliance for both Novotel and ibis Budget hotels within your department scopeManage capital expenditure projectsProactively review hotel products, oversee and carry out maintenance and general repairs to ensure the smooth operation of all hotel departmentsContractor managementBe actively involved in the Health & Safety of our guests and our team membersDevelop and implement effective strategies and solutions to improve energy, water and waste management, and our environmental impactDrive team engagement and promote a positive team culture Tertiary or trade qualifications preferredPrevious experience in a similar role within hotels or residential accommodationA strong knowledge of engineering systems & proceduresThe ability to align departmental activities and planning with business objectivesExceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projectsSuperior relationship building skills with stakeholders & contractorsA leadership style that is authentic, engaging and strategic, with clear communication at all levelsTo be considered for this role, you must have full working rights in Australia.
